Coolant Type — Proton Models Malaysia
Older Proton models (Saga/Persona) accept universal OAT coolant or Proton genuine coolant — avoid plain water, which promotes rust in the aluminium engine. X50/X70/X90 Geely-sourced engines require OAT or G12+ coolant that is compatible with aluminium components. Never mix green conventional coolant with OAT/G12+ as it causes gel precipitation. In Malaysia's heat, check coolant level monthly.
