Persona Punch CVT: change Punch CVT-specific fluid every 40,000 km. CRITICAL: NOT compatible with Toyota WS or generic CVT fluid. Wrong fluid = belt slip = CVT replacement RM 4,000–8,000. Malaysia fluid change RM 220–350.
Persona Punch CVT Fluid — Critical
The Proton Persona uses a Punch CVT (Belgian-made), NOT a Toyota or Honda CVT. Do NOT use Toyota WS, Honda HCF-2, or generic CVT fluid — the belt and pulley design requires Punch-specific fluid. Using wrong fluid causes belt slip, pulley corrosion, and eventual CVT failure (RM 4,000–8,000). Change every 40,000 km. If the CVT is shuddering, try a fluid change first before any teardown.
