Buying a Used Nissan X-Trail Malaysia — Checklist
Key checks: (1) CVT fluid — dark brown = neglect, walk away. (2) T32 radiator — check plastic tanks for hairline cracks. (3) T33 turbo — listen for turbo whistle or intercooler hose weeping. (4) AWD coupling — engage 4WD test on gravel surface, listen for binding. (5) A/C condenser — inspect fins for stone chip damage. (6) Underbody — check for rust at drain plugs and rear crossmember. (7) Service history — CVT records are non-negotiable. (8) OBD scan before committing.
