Mercedes-Benz GLA Suspension Service Malaysia — X156/H247
GLA front McPherson / rear multi-link suspension. Shock absorbers and bushings under stress on Malaysia's rough roads. Knocking from rear is a common complaint — diagnosis and repair costs.
GLA X156 uses a 4-link front and multi-link rear suspension. H247 GLA (W177-based) uses MacPherson front and multi-link rear. No AIRMATIC on any GLA — conventional steel spring/damper throughout. Higher ride height than A-Class/CLA means slightly more suspension travel but similar wear items.
Common Wear & Cost
- Front strut top mount: RM 250–400 per side
- Lower control arm / front link bushings: RM 300–500 per side
- Rear shock absorbers: RM 400–700 per side
- 4-wheel alignment after any suspension work: RM 80–120
