For W204 (2007–2014): (1) CRITICAL — check for timing chain rattle on cold start; (2) Check all 4 electric windows; (3) Check sunroof drain functionality (pour water in and watch it drain). For W205/W206 (2014+): (1) Test 9G-Tronic for smooth shifts in slow traffic; (2) Verify ASSYST service history (check via XENTRY or Mercedes connected app); (3) Test AIRMATIC (if equipped) by parking and checking if car sits level. For all models: verify battery health with a battery tester (not just a voltage check). Pre-purchase inspection by a Mercedes specialist (RM 200–400) is strongly recommended.
