Perodua Myvi Aircond Not Cold? Diagnosis & Repair Near Kepong
Myvi aircond losing its cooling power is usually low refrigerant, a worn compressor or a clogged evaporator. We diagnose the actual cause before recommending any work — no unnecessary part changes. Serving Myvi owners near Kepong from our Sri Damansara workshop.

The Perodua Myvi is Malaysia's best-selling car — and in our heat, the aircond is non-negotiable. When a Myvi's aircond starts losing its cooling power, blowing warm air, or making unusual sounds, it is time to find the real cause rather than just topping up gas and hoping for the best. We serve Myvi owners near Kepong from our Sri Damansara workshop.
Common Myvi aircond problems and what causes them
Refrigerant leak — low gas (refrigerant) is the most common cause of reduced cooling. Gas does not get used up in a healthy system; if the level is low, there is a leak somewhere. Simply topping up without finding and fixing the leak means it will slowly empty again. We use UV dye testing to locate leaks before recommending any top-up.
Weak or failing compressor — the compressor pumps the refrigerant around the system. When it weakens, cooling drops off gradually; when it fails, cooling stops completely. Signs include a loud rattling or clicking from the engine bay when the aircond is on, or the aircond clutch cycling on and off rapidly.
Clogged condenser — the condenser sits in front of the radiator and releases heat from the refrigerant to the outside air. In city driving, bugs, debris and road grime accumulate and block the condenser fins, reducing the system's ability to shed heat. The aircond still blows, but not as cold as it should.
Dirty or clogged evaporator — the evaporator sits inside the dashboard and is where the cabin air is cooled. Over years it accumulates dust, mould and bacteria, which block airflow and cause the musty smell many Myvi owners report. Evaporator cleaning restores airflow and eliminates the smell.
Cabin filter clog — the cabin filter catches dust and particles before they reach the evaporator. When it is blocked, airflow through the vents drops significantly even though the system is running. Myvi cabin filters should be replaced every 20,000–30,000 KM or annually.
Our aircond diagnostic process
We check refrigerant pressure (both high and low side) to assess system performance, inspect the compressor operation and clutch engagement, check the condenser for blockages, and measure vent temperature. Based on this we give you an accurate diagnosis — not guesswork — and a clear quote before any work begins.
