Mercedes-Benz G350d Full Brake Renewal + AdBlue Top-Up (37,604 KM, Sri Damansara)
This G-Class G350d came in at 37,604 KM for a full brake service — front and rear brake pads, rear wear sensors, and an AdBlue diesel exhaust fluid top-up. Heavy luxury SUVs are hard on brakes; we keep them at their best with OEM-grade components.

A Mercedes-Benz G-Class G350d — the G Wagon — came to 4M CarCare at 37,604 KM for a brake service and AdBlue top-up. The G350d is powered by a 3.0-litre straight-six diesel engine and weighs over 2,400 KG. A vehicle this heavy demands that its brake system is kept in excellent condition — worn brakes on a 2,400 KG SUV is a very different situation to worn brakes on a 1,200 KG sedan.
Services performed
Front brake pad replacement — OEM-specification brake pads for the G350d's large front callipers. The front brakes carry approximately 70–75% of the braking load during normal deceleration. On a 2,400 KG vehicle, front pad wear is significant even at relatively low mileage.
Rear brake pad replacement — rear pads also replaced simultaneously; on a heavy SUV the rear brakes contribute more to total braking force than on a lighter vehicle, and wear rates are comparable.
Rear brake pad wear sensor replacement — the G-Class uses electronic wear sensors on the rear; when the sensor wire is cut by pad contact it triggers the warning light. The sensor is a single-use component and must be replaced with the pads.
AdBlue diesel exhaust fluid top-up — the G350d diesel uses SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology to reduce NOx emissions. AdBlue is injected into the exhaust stream and reacts with exhaust gases to produce harmless nitrogen and water. When the AdBlue level drops too low, the system triggers a warning and eventually prevents the engine from starting after a set number of restarts.
Brake disc inspection findings
The front and rear brake discs were measured and found to be within minimum thickness specification at 37,604 KM — replacement was not required at this service. We will always measure and report honestly; you will not be advised to change discs that are still serviceable.
Caliper inspection showed no seizure or fluid leaks on either axle. The G-Class's large monobloc callipers have a long service life; we apply fresh lubricant to the guide pins and piston faces as part of the service.
Why AdBlue matters on the G350d diesel
AdBlue is not optional on diesel vehicles equipped with SCR systems — it is a legal emissions compliance requirement. Running the system low forces the ECU to limit engine power and, eventually, prevent starting entirely to remain compliant with emissions regulations. A simple top-up during a service visit prevents any of this.
We stock AdBlue for all diesel vehicles using SCR — Mercedes G350d, E350d, GLS350d, and other Euro 6 diesel vehicles. It is always added as part of any service visit on a qualifying diesel.
