BMW X7 Carbon Cleaning Malaysia
B58 (inline-6): walnut blast at 70,000–90,000 km, RM 800–1,200. N63 V8: 8 ports, RM 1,200–2,000. Heaviest BMW SUV with most engine load = accelerated carbon buildup. KL traffic and 7-passenger load idling worsens buildup rate. Recommend every 80,000 km.

X7 Carbon Buildup
- B58 direct injection: carbon on intake valves by 60,000–80,000 km — city driving accelerates buildup
- Walnut blast (6 ports): RM 900–1,200
- Symptom: rough idle, hesitation at low RPM, reduced fuel economy
Walnut Blasting in Malaysia — When and Why
Direct-injection engines like the B58 3.0T or N63 4.4T V8 in the X7 cannot clean intake valves with fuel the way port-injected engines do. Carbon accumulates on the back of intake valves — typically 3–5mm thick by 80,000 km of KL city driving. Symptoms: rough idle, hesitation at low RPM, reduced fuel economy. Walnut blasting (media blasting with crushed walnut shells) removes the deposits without disassembling the head. At 4M Car Care this is done with the engine at operating temperature for best results.
