Buying a Used BMW X3 Malaysia — Checklist
F25 checklist: N20 cold-start chain rattle (walk away if present), expansion tank condition, ATF colour (brown = overdue). G01 checklist: electric water pump hours via ISTA, EGR cooler condition, DSG/DCT adaptation. xDrive: all 4 tyres must match. ISTA scan mandatory.
F25 X3 Checklist
- Cold-start rattle test (N20) — mandatory, 2 sec = walk away
- ATF colour: dark brown = overdue
- Transfer case: does it whine above 80 km/h?
- Low-speed AWD binding test: sharp turning in car park
- ISTA full scan including xDrive module
G01 X3 Checklist
- Electric water pump health via ISTA
- EGR cooler fault history
- xDrive transfer case and differential fluid colour
- CBS counters — all items current?
- Adaptive M Suspension (if equipped): no warning lights
