BMW X3 Suspension Malaysia — F25/G01

Suspension — F25/G01

  • F25: MacPherson front / multi-link rear
  • G01: multi-link front and rear — sportier setup
  • Front struts: 80,000–120,000 km
  • Malaysia repair: strut pair RM 700–1,400; bushings RM 200–500 each
  • G01 with Adaptive M Suspension: ISTA calibration after strut work

Ride Comfort vs Sport Trade-off — X3

The X3 is intended as an SUV with sedan-like handling. The G01 multi-link setup achieves this well but is more complex to service than the F25 MacPherson setup. For Malaysia roads, worn bushings cause the X3 to feel vague and wallowy over undulations. We can fit upgraded polyurethane bushings to the G01 rear multi-link for RM 800–1,200 total — restoring precision without sacrificing comfort.
