BMW X3 Oil Leak Malaysia — N20/B48 Common Points
F25 N20: valve cover gasket (soaks ignition coils), oil filter housing gasket. G01 B48: oil separator hose, turbo oil feed line, cam cover. xDrive transfer case: output shaft seals common leak. Malaysia repair RM 400–1,500 depending on location. Oil on coils causes misfires — diagnose early.
Oil Leak Points — F25/G01
- F25 N20: valve cover gasket, oil filter housing gasket
- G01 B48: oil separator hose (most common), cam cover gasket
- xDrive transfer case: input/output seal, RM 300–600
- Front + rear differential: axle seals, RM 200–400 per seal
xDrive Leak Detection — Multiple Sources
When an X3 leaves oil spots on the ground, the source can be the engine, gearbox, transfer case, front differential, or rear differential — five possible sources vs two on a rear-wheel-drive car. A fluorescent dye leak test and inspection on a hoist is the only reliable way to identify the source. Do not assume any oil spot is from the engine — let us identify it properly before you spend money on the wrong repair.
