Case 1: F25 xDrive28i — AWD Binding + Timing Chain (90,000 km)
F25 presented with cold-start rattle and AWD binding in car parks. ISTA confirmed N20 timing chain stretch + transfer case clutch slippage. We replaced the chain kit (RM 4,800) and flushed all drivetrain fluids (transfer case + front + rear diff + ATF) — RM 800 for fluids. After the flush, AWD binding resolved completely — old degraded transfer case fluid, not a mechanical failure. Total RM 5,600.
Case 2: G01 xDrive30i — Water Pump Proactive (45,000 km)
G01 came for routine 45,000 km service. ISTA water pump reading: efficiency 62% — marginal. We recommended proactive replacement. Owner agreed. RM 900 total. Three months later, the owner sent us a photo of his colleague's identical G01 being towed on NKVE — overheated water pump failure at 52,000 km. The RM 900 proactive replacement saved a RM 1,500 tow and potential head gasket repair.
