BMW X2 Power Steering Malaysia — EPS
X2 uses EPS — no fluid. FWD-based platform: lighter steering feel than RWD BMW. EPS warning at 80,000–100,000 km. Malaysia repair RM 600–1,600. Compact and lighter than X3 = EPS motor under less stress. Coupe body style: low roofline does not affect EPS load.

X2 Power Steering
- Electric power steering (EPS) — no fluid required
- EPS groan on full lock: common on FWD BMW — usually resolves with steering column bearing replacement
- EPS motor failure: RM 1,500–2,500
Electric Power Steering — No Fluid to Ignore
The X2 uses electric power steering (EPS) — there is no hydraulic fluid to check or change. However, EPS is not maintenance-free: the steering column bearing and EPS motor are wear items, and the system requires correct coding to the vehicle's VIN if the EPS unit is replaced. Common EPS symptoms in Malaysia: groan or whine on full lock in car parks, variable steering weight at highway speed (usually an EPS adaptation issue), or a steering warning light. ISTA can read EPS torque sensor data and motor current draw.
