Buying a Used BMW 2 Series Malaysia — Checklist
F22 N20 checklist: cold-start chain rattle (deal-breaker — walk away), expansion tank condition, ATF colour. F22 M240i: charge pipe condition, VANOS codes via ISTA. G42: electric water pump hours, DCT adaptation if equipped. All: valve cover oil saturation, full ISTA scan. Coupe body: check all 4 wheel arches for rust.
2 Series Used Car Checklist
- ISTA scan: check DCT clutch wear parameter, battery SOH, CBS counters
- DCT test: engage D from cold standstill — any judder or delay?
- F22 N20: cold-start chain rattle test mandatory
- Check all 4 tyre pressures and wear pattern (FWD: uneven front wear is common)
- Look for coolant leak around B48 water pump area
Pre-Purchase Inspection at 4M Car Care
