BMW 2 Series Battery Replacement Malaysia — AGM
F22/G42 battery in boot — AGM only, no EFB or flooded. IBS sensor ISTA registration mandatory after replacement. Coupe boot access is tighter than 3 Series sedan. OEM Varta or Exide AGM 90Ah. Malaysia installed cost RM 600–1,000. Without IBS registration, charging system overcharges and destroys AGM.

AGM Battery Registration — Critical Step
Never skip ISTA battery registration after replacing the 2 Series's AGM battery. Without registration, the DME continues charging the new battery at the old battery's degraded profile — this overcharges and destroys a new AGM within 6–12 months. Registration takes 5 minutes via ISTA and resets the charging algorithm. Also note: in Malaysia's stop-start city driving, a 2 Series with a weak battery often strands owners in carparks or toll plazas — battery health check is included in every 4M Car Care service.
