6 signs to check your brakes
1. A sharp metallic squeal when braking — usually the pad-wear warning sound.
2. The wheel or car shakes when braking — possibly a warped or unevenly worn disc.
3. Soft brake, needs a deeper press to stop — possibly low fluid or air in the system.
4. The brake pedal feels sticky or too loose.
5. Brake or ABS warning light on the dashboard.

How often do brake pads need changing?
