Toyota Estima ACR50/55 GSR50/55 (2006–2020) Polymann Bushing Upgrade — Keeping Malaysia's Favourite Family MPV Smooth and Stable

The Toyota Estima ACR50, ACR55, GSR50 and GSR55 — produced from 2006 to 2020 — is one of the most practical and well-liked family MPVs in Malaysia. Whether in 2.4-litre petrol form (ACR) or 3.5-litre V6 (GSR), the Estima was designed to move a family in comfort: smooth over bumps, quiet at highway speed, and with steering that is light and easy to manage. Many Estimas in Malaysia are grey imports from Japan that arrive with significant mileage already on them, and continue to accumulate kilometres quickly in daily family use. At these mileages, the front lower arm bushings are one of the first components to show wear — and their condition has a direct effect on everything the Estima does at the front.

PPPB 35807 — Front Lower Arm Bushing Kit: The Estima ACR50/GSR50's front suspension uses a MacPherson strut layout. The front lower arm — also called the control arm — is the primary lateral and longitudinal link between the front wheel and the subframe. It has two bushing points: a large rear bush that absorbs braking forces and manages the arm's compliance under load, and a smaller front bush that defines the arm's pivot axis and handles lateral loads during cornering.

On a heavy family MPV like the Estima — which regularly carries five to eight passengers plus luggage, and is often driven on long-distance highway journeys — the front lower arm bushings take more sustained load than on a lighter passenger car. Worn front lower arm bushings on the Estima produce symptoms that are familiar to high-mileage MPV owners: a knock or clunk when driving over road joints or speed bumps, a slight looseness at the steering wheel's centre, and front tyres that begin to wear unevenly because the wheel's caster and toe are no longer sitting at the geometry Toyota specified.

PPPB 35807 restores both bushing points to original specification. After installation and wheel alignment, the Estima's front end returns to its correct geometry — the steering centres properly again, road noise from the front suspension reduces, and front tyre wear returns to even across the tread.

A four-wheel alignment is required after replacing the front lower arm bushings on the Estima. When the bushings are renewed, the lower arm returns to its correct pivot geometry — but the wheel angles (caster, camber, toe) must be verified and adjusted on the alignment rack to confirm they are within Toyota's specification. On a large MPV that carries heavy loads, correct front geometry is especially important for consistent straight-line tracking and even tyre wear.
