Toyota Camry ACV50 (2013–2019) Polymann Bushing Upgrade — Complete Front and Rear Restoration for Malaysia's Executive Sedan

The Toyota Camry ACV50 is Malaysia's benchmark executive sedan — smooth, spacious, and built to cover serious highway mileage. At high mileage, worn front lower arm, front and rear stabilizer bar, rear trailing arm, and rear knuckle bushings quietly erode the Camry's composed, refined character. Polymann covers all five positions. 4M Carcare is an authorised installer.

Toyota Camry ACV50 (2013–2019) Polymann Bushing Upgrade — Complete Front and Rear Restoration for Malaysia's Executive Sedan

The Toyota Camry ACV50 — produced from 2013 to 2019 in 2.0-litre and 2.5-litre variants — is the car that defines executive motoring for many Malaysian professionals. It is chosen for its long-haul comfort, its quiet highway cruising, and the space it affords the person in the back seat. It covers serious mileage: early morning highway runs, weekend family trips, and years of daily commuting add up quickly. At 100,000 km or more, the Camry's suspension bushings have absorbed a significant amount of load — and the composed, planted feel that made it the choice for this class of buyer starts to give way to subtle imprecision and unwanted noise.

Front suspension — 2 kits

PPPB 35837 — Front Lower Arm Bushing Kit: The Camry ACV50 uses a MacPherson strut front suspension, with the lower control arm located to the subframe through precision-formed bushings. The kit includes polyurethane bushings together with the cam bolt adjusters required for geometry setting — making wheel alignment a built-in part of the installation process rather than an afterthought. Worn lower arm bushings on the Camry manifest as a slight looseness at steering centre, a tendency to wander on long straight highways, and a dull knock under braking or over road joints.

PPPB 36128 — Front Stabilizer Bar Bushing Kit (24mm): The Camry's front anti-roll bar is a 24mm unit — notably thicker than the bars used on smaller sedans — reflecting the car's weight and the need to control body roll effectively at highway speeds. The two rubber clamp bushings that mount the bar to the subframe wear and crack over time, allowing the bar to move laterally in its clamps. This produces a knocking or clunking from the front suspension that is especially noticeable at slow speeds over speed bumps. PPPB 36128 is sized precisely for the 24mm bar diameter.

Rear suspension — 3 kits

PPPB 35842 — Rear Trailing Arm Bushing Kit: The Camry ACV50 uses a multi-link independent rear suspension. The rear trailing arm defines the longitudinal position of the rear wheel — it handles the fore-aft forces under braking and acceleration, and its bushings at both ends absorb the resulting loads. When these wear, the rear axle shifts slightly under hard braking, producing an unsettled feeling that Camry owners often describe as the rear end feeling 'loose' compared to when the car was new.

PPPB 35851 — Rear Knuckle Bushing Kit: The rear knuckle (wheel carrier) is the central hub that all rear suspension arms attach to. The knuckle has its own bushings at the arm attachment points — specifically where the trailing arm and lateral arms connect. These bushings are often overlooked in a standard inspection because they require specific attention to assess. When worn, they allow the rear wheel's camber and toe to shift under load, causing the Camry's rear end to track imprecisely and producing uneven rear tyre wear even after a wheel alignment has been performed.

PPPB 36129 — Rear Stabilizer Bar Bushing Kit (16mm): The Camry's rear anti-roll bar is a 16mm unit that helps control rear body roll in corners and contributes to the flat, composed cornering character that distinguishes the Camry from less refined mid-size sedans. Worn rear sway bar clamp bushings allow the bar to rattle in its mounts — a sound that tends to appear first over slow speed bumps and expansion joints. PPPB 36129 replaces the rear clamp bushings with polyurethane sized for the 16mm rear bar.

Wheel alignment after installation

The front lower arm kit (PPPB 35837) includes cam bolt adjusters, making wheel alignment a mandatory part of the installation — not just a recommendation. After rear bushing work on the trailing arm and knuckle, rear alignment values will also shift. A full four-wheel alignment covering all four corners is required after any combination of these kits, ensuring the Camry steers and tracks as precisely as the new bushings allow.
