The Mazda CX-5 KF — produced from 2017 to 2026 — is one of the most driver-focused compact SUVs in its segment. Mazda engineers the CX-5 to feel connected: precise steering, a chassis that responds cleanly to driver input, and a ride that filters road noise without feeling disconnected. CX-5 owners who pay attention to the driving experience will notice when this starts to change. PPPB 36091 — Front Lower Arm Bushing Kit: The CX-5 KF's front suspension uses a MacPherson strut layout. In this design, the lower arm — sometimes called the control arm — is the primary lateral and longitudinal link between the wheel and the subframe. It carries the full side load of the front wheel during cornering and the fore-aft load during braking. The lower arm has two bushing points: a larger rear bush that absorbs braking forces, and a front bush that handles lateral loads and sets the arm's pivot axis.

When these bushings wear, several things happen at once. The wheel's caster and toe angles shift slightly under load — Mazda's precisely calibrated geometry changes in a way that was never intended. Steering response slows. The front end develops a knock or thud over joints and rough patches that previously passed silently. Tyre wear becomes uneven because the wheel is no longer sitting at the geometry Mazda specified. PPPB 36091 restores these two bushing points to original specification, recovering the steering precision and front-end composure the CX-5 was designed to have.

A wheel alignment is mandatory after replacing the front lower arm bushings on any vehicle, and the CX-5 KF is no exception. When the bushings are replaced, the lower arm returns to its correct pivot geometry — but the wheel angles (caster, camber, toe) need to be reset on the alignment rack to confirm they are within Mazda's specification. On a car engineered for precision handling like the CX-5, correct geometry is especially important: even a small toe error will show up as straight-line wander or uneven tyre wear.
