Honda Civic FD (2006–2011) Polymann Bushing Upgrade — 6 Kits for a Complete Front & Rear Refresh
The Honda Civic FD is one of Malaysia's most common sedans. At high mileage the tell-tale signs appear: front stabilizer knock, vague steering, a loose rear end. Polymann covers all six bushing locations on the FD — front lower arm, front and rear stabilizer bars, rear trailing arm, rear knuckle and rear upper arm. 4M Carcare is an authorised installer.

The Honda Civic FD — produced from 2006 to 2011 — was one of the most popular sedans in Malaysia during its era and remains a common sight on the road today. Many of these cars have clocked well over 100,000 km, and at that mileage the original rubber suspension bushings are long past their best. The most common complaints from high-mileage FD Civic owners are a knocking sound from the front or rear suspension, steering that feels softer than it used to, and a rear end that drifts slightly in corners or when changing lanes at speed.
Front suspension — 2 kits
PPPB 35861 — Front Lower Arm Bushing Kit: The front lower arm is the primary structural link of the Civic FD's MacPherson strut front suspension. It has three bushing points — a large rear pivot and two forward bushings — that together control the wheel's position under all driving loads. Worn lower arm bushings cause the most common FD complaint: a dull knock or thud from the front when going over bumps or road joints, and a steering that has lost its direct feel. Replacing all three bushing points with Polymann polyurethane restores front-end precision and eliminates the impact noise.
PPPB 36122 — Front Stabilizer Bar Bushing Kit (24mm): The Civic FD's front anti-roll bar is 24mm in diameter and is clamped to the subframe by two rubber bushings. This is one of the most common noise sources on a high-mileage FD — as the rubber cracks and hardens, the bar starts to knock and rattle in its mounts every time the car corners or goes over a bump. The Polymann PPPB 36122 is machined to fit the FD's 24mm bar precisely, gripping it firmly so the movement — and the noise — stops.
Rear suspension — 4 kits
PPPB 35873 — Rear Trailing Arm Bushing Kit: The trailing arm defines the longitudinal position of the rear wheel. When its bushings wear, the rear end shifts slightly under braking and acceleration — causing a feeling of instability at the back of the car, particularly when slowing down for corners or during highway lane changes.
PPPB 35957 — Rear Knuckle Bushing Kit: The rear knuckle is the central carrier where all rear suspension arms connect and the wheel bearing sits. Worn knuckle bushings allow the entire rear wheel assembly to shift slightly — a subtle but persistent imprecision that makes the rear end feel slightly loose even when other suspension components are in good condition.
PPPB 36287 — Rear Upper Arm Bushing Kit: The rear upper arm controls the camber of the rear wheel through suspension travel. Worn upper arm bushings cause rear camber to wander under load — leading to uneven rear tyre wear and a rear end that feels imprecise in faster corners.
PPPB 36123 — Rear Stabilizer Bar Bushing Kit (12mm): The Civic FD also has a rear anti-roll bar — a 12mm bar that links the left and right rear suspension to reduce body roll. Like the front, the clamp bushings harden over time and allow the bar to rattle. A rear stabilizer bar knock is often mistaken for a shock absorber or trailing arm problem. The Polymann PPPB 36123 fits precisely to the FD's 12mm rear bar and eliminates the rattle at the source.
Why the stabilizer bar bushings matter on the FD
The Civic FD has stabilizer bars at both front and rear — unlike many cars of its era that only have one at the front. This gives the FD a more balanced body roll response: the front bar controls front roll and the rear bar prevents excessive rear roll. When both sets of clamp bushings wear out, both bars start to knock — front and rear simultaneously. Many owners assume they have a shock absorber problem when in fact both stabilizer bars are rattling in their mounts. Replacing both bar bushing kits at the same time is the most efficient fix.
Wheel alignment after front lower arm bushing replacement
Replacing the front lower arm bushings changes the front suspension geometry. A four-wheel alignment is required after this job — we include it as standard at 4M Carcare whenever lower arm bushings are replaced.
