Honda City T9A (2014–2020) Polymann Bushing Upgrade — Restoring Malaysia's Most Popular Sedan

The Honda City T9A — sold in Malaysia from 2014 to 2020 — is one of the most common cars on Malaysian roads. Whether it is commuting from Subang to KL every day, shuttling children to school, or covering long weekend distances between states, the City T9A is built to accumulate kilometres. That durability is exactly what makes it such a popular choice — but it also means many T9A units are running at 100,000 to 150,000 km or beyond, and at those mileages, the front suspension bushings have absorbed a significant amount of road stress. Polymann addresses the two front positions that wear first: the front lower arm and the front stabilizer bar.

PPPB 35852 — Front Lower Arm Bushing Kit: The City T9A uses MacPherson strut front suspension, with the lower control arm connected to the subframe through rubber bushings at both ends. These bushings locate the front wheel fore-and-aft and control camber under load. As they wear, the arm gains unwanted movement — the steering develops a slight looseness at centre, and the car may pull gently to one side under braking. PPPB 35852 replaces the factory rubber with polyurethane, restoring precise lower arm location without adding harshness to the ride.

PPPB 36121 — Front Stabilizer Bar Bushing Kit: The front sway bar on the City T9A runs across the subframe and is clamped in place by rubber bushings at two points. When these bushings harden and crack with age, the sway bar rattles in its mount — producing the classic knock-over-bumps that City owners often notice after 80,000 km or more. PPPB 36121 replaces the sway bar clamp bushings with polyurethane, eliminating the rattle and firming up body roll resistance in corners.

The City T9A is not a sports car, but it is a car that benefits from a tight, predictable chassis. A City with worn bushings pulls slightly under braking, wanders on the highway, and produces knocks over every pothole. A City with new Polymann bushings drives as it did when it left the showroom — steering that goes where you point it, a front end that does not rattle, and body roll that is kept in check without stiffening the ride. After replacing the front lower arm bushings, a wheel alignment check is required. The new bushings allow the arm to settle into its correct position, which will shift the camber and toe readings from the worn-in values. A full four-wheel alignment ensures the City tracks straight and wears its tyres evenly — important for a car that covers high daily mileage.
