What does a routine service actually cover? A checklist
A service isn't just an oil change. This checklist shows what a routine service should inspect and replace.

Routine servicing is the foundation of car care — done well, it prevents breakdowns and extends your car's life. A full service is far more than just an oil change.
Common service checklist
Change engine oil and oil filter.
Check / change air filter and cabin filter.
Check brake pads, discs and brake fluid.
Check tyre pressure, tread, rotate if needed.
Check battery condition and charging system.
Check coolant, gearbox oil and all fluids.
Computer scan for fault codes (especially European cars).
Routine checks of underbody, suspension and lights.
How often to service?
Depending on car and oil grade, generally every 5,000–10,000 km or 6 months. For European and turbo cars, follow factory spec and don't stretch the mileage.
