How often should you service your car air-cond?
Wait until it stops blowing cold? Regular air-cond servicing actually saves money. How often to clean it, when to top up gas, and what to watch for.

In Malaysia's heat, car air-conditioning works hard every single day. Many owners only think about it when it stops blowing cold — but by then the problem (and the bill) is bigger. Regular air-cond servicing keeps it cold, healthy and cheaper to run.
How often should you service it?
Every 6 months: clean or check the cabin (pollen) filter — a clogged filter weakens airflow and breeds smell and bacteria.
Every 1–2 years: a full air-cond service — clean the cooling coil (evaporator/condenser), check the gas level and inspect the compressor and belts.
Top up gas only when needed: a healthy system shouldn't lose gas quickly. If it does, there's a leak that needs fixing, not just refilling.
Signs your air-cond needs attention
Not as cold as before, weak airflow, a musty or sour smell when you switch it on, water dripping into the cabin, or unusual noise from the blower. Any of these means it's time for a check.
