2NR-VE is port injection (PFI) — carbon builds slowly. Short frequent trips are the main risk factor for Veloz owners.
Veloz 2NR-VE is port-injected — carbon buildup on intake valves is slower than on direct-injection engines. Carbon cleaning is recommended at 80,000 km if the engine has rough idle or slight hesitation on acceleration.
Carbon Cleaning Details
- Throttle body cleaning: RM 80–120 — first step; often cures rough idle without full carbon service
- Fuel injector cleaning (chemical service): RM 100–180 — restore fuel spray pattern on port injectors
