Toyota Corolla Altis Engine Oil Guide Malaysia (All Engines)
1ZZ-FE uses 5W-30 at 3.9L; 2ZR-FE and 2ZR-FAE use 0W-20 at 4.4L. Using the wrong grade accelerates wear on older E140 engines.
Use the correct oil for your Altis generation: E140 (2ZR-FE) → 5W-30 full synthetic. ZRE182 (2ZR-FBE) → 0W-20 full synthetic. ZWE186 hybrid → 0W-20 full synthetic. Never use mineral oil in any Altis generation.
Oil by Generation
- E140 (2008–2013): 5W-30 full synthetic — Castrol EDGE, Shell Helix Ultra or Toyota Genuine 5W-30
- ZRE182 (2014–2019): 0W-20 full synthetic — Toyota Genuine 0W-20 or Mobil 1 0W-20
- ZWE186 hybrid: 0W-20 full synthetic only — do not use 0W-16 (Harrier/Corolla Cross spec)
