Subaru WRX Coolant Service Malaysia
The WRX FA20DIT runs at higher temperatures than naturally aspirated engines — maintaining fresh coolant is critical to protecting the head gasket and turbocharger. Use Subaru Super Coolant (blue) or a compatible long-life OAT coolant at the correct concentration; flush and replace every two years or 40,000 km in the Malaysian heat. Never allow the coolant level to drop, as overheating can stress the FA20DIT head gasket which, while stronger than the old EJ20, is not immune to heat damage.

Subaru WRX Coolant
- WRX FA20DIT: Subaru Super Coolant blue; turbo engine generates more heat than NA — first change at 80,000 km recommended (earlier than NA cars), then every 40,000 km
- WRX intercooler water spray (if equipped): some WRX have intercooler water spray kit; uses separate water reservoir — top up with distilled water only; never use coolant in spray reservoir
- WRX hard driving coolant: track use or mountain driving pushes cooling system hard — carry extra coolant; monitor temperature gauge; WRX overheating can cause expensive turbo/head damage
- WRX coolant and oil separator: FA20DIT has oil catch can installations popular in WRX community — ensure any modifications do not compromise coolant hose routing
