Proton X50 Engine Oil Malaysia
X50 1.5T TGDi 3-cyl: ~4.5L capacity. 0W-20 or 5W-30 fully synthetic every 5,000 km. Turbo + direct injection — fully synthetic only. 3-cylinder: oil changes slightly cheaper than X70 4-cylinder. Malaysia RM 100–200.
- Spec: 5W-40 SN or 0W-20 SP full synthetic — check owner's manual for your variant
- Capacity: ~4.3L (1.5T TGDi 3-cylinder)
- Turbo engine — never use mineral or semi-synthetic; full synthetic mandatory
Engine Oil Grade — Proton Models Malaysia
Proton Saga/Persona use 10W-30 or 5W-30 SN. For X50/X70/X90 with the Geely 1.5T TGDI, only 0W-20 or 5W-30 SP/SN fully synthetic is acceptable — the turbo demands low-viscosity synthetic oil. Mixing mineral and synthetic is not recommended. Change every 5,000 km; never stretch to 10,000 km in Malaysia's climate. Always check the API rating: SP is the latest standard and backward-compatible with SN.
