Alza D55L (Aug 2022): complete redesign on new DNGA platform. Previous Alza (2010–2022) was M300. D55L: larger, smarter, ASA 3.0. 1.5L NR-VE + D-CVT. 4-corner disc brakes (vs rear drum on old Alza). 360° camera on AV. Significantly better than first-gen. Recommended for families needing 7 seats under.
Alza Generations Guide
The Perodua Alza has two generations. Gen1 (2009–2021) used a 1.5L 3SZ-VE DVVT engine with a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual. It was Malaysia's first MPV from Perodua and became extremely popular as a family 7-seater. Gen2 (2022–present) completely redesigned with the 1.5L 2NR-FKE engine, D-CVT (DNAT), new ADAS safety features (AEB, LDA, ACC on AV), and a modern interior. The Gen2 is significantly more refined than Gen1, with better fuel economy and safety ratings. When buying used, Gen2 is preferred for its modern tech, while Gen1 remains popular for its lower price point.
