Buying a Used Nissan Sylphy Malaysia — Checklist
Key checks: (1) CVT fluid — should be light pink/red; brown or burnt smell = CVT neglect, walk away. (2) Cold start — listen for timing chain rattle after 3+ minutes standing. (3) Engine mounts — idle with A/C on: excessive vibration indicates worn mounts. (4) Power steering — full lock turns: listen for whining or juddering. (5) Multi-link rear suspension — bounce each corner, clunking over bumps indicates worn bushings. (6) OBD scan for CVT and engine fault codes. (7) A/C cooling — should reach 16°C blower max in under 3 minutes.
Used Sylphy Inspection
- CVT shudder: test at 30–60 km/h under light throttle
- Check front lower arm bushings — push wheel to feel for play
- Full A/C test — cabin temperature drop rate
- Service history completeness — especially CVT changes
