EGR carbon buildup is the most common Navara workshop complaint. The EGR valve recirculates exhaust gases back into the intake, depositing soot over time. Symptoms: rough idle, P0400/P0401 codes, reduced power. EGR cleaning or replacement restores performance. Intake manifold carbon deposits may also build up — a walnut blast or chemical clean every 60,000–80,000 km is advised.
