GLC M274 and M254 engines use iridium or platinum spark plugs at 60,000 km intervals. Replacing on time prevents misfires, rough cold starts and increased fuel consumption in Malaysian conditions.

Spark Plugs — Mercedes Petrol Engines Malaysia
Mercedes-Benz petrol engines use NGK or Bosch iridium spark plugs — change every 60,000 km. On turbocharged M270/M274 engines (C200/C180/GLC200), misfires under boost degrade the catalytic converter and can damage the turbo — do not delay plug replacement. Budget RM 350–550 for a set of 4 iridium plugs including labour. Bosch OE plugs are the factory specification — aftermarket premium plugs (NGK Laser Iridium) are an acceptable alternative. Never use copper plugs on modern Mercedes turbo engines.
