Mercedes GLC Coupe Oil Leak Malaysia — C253/C254
GLC Coupe C253 M274 oil leaks: valve cover gasket and oil cooler adapter seal — same failure points as GLC X253. Drips from adapter seal land on 9G-Tronic bell housing. Malaysia fix RM 350–1,200.
GLC Coupe Oil Leak Points
- Valve cover gasket — oil mist on engine top, burning smell; repair RM 350–600
- Oil cooler adapter seal — oil drips down engine side onto transmission; repair RM 600–1,200
Oil Leak Detection — Mercedes Engines
Common oil leak points on Mercedes-Benz petrol engines: valve cover gasket (most common — brown residue on top of engine, burning smell), camshaft adjuster solenoids (VVT solenoids — cause misfire codes if oil contaminates the plug wells), and the crankshaft front seal. For turbocharged models (M270/M274), also check the turbo oil feed and return line banjo fittings. Valve cover gasket sets cost RM 80–200 for parts; workshop labour adds RM 200–400. Any oil leak near the timing chain area must be repaired promptly — oil saturation of the chain tensioner causes premature failure.
