Mercedes DOT 4 LV — Malaysia Brake Fluid
Mercedes-Benz specifies DOT 4 LV (Low Viscosity) brake fluid — critical for BlueEFFICIENCY braking systems that use electro-hydraulic actuation. Regular DOT 4 can be used but is not optimal. Mercedes mandates brake fluid replacement every 2 years regardless of mileage — in Malaysia's humidity this is especially important as moisture absorption lowers the boiling point. Brake fluid flush costs RM 150–250 at independent workshops. Never use DOT 5 (silicone) fluid in Mercedes-Benz hydraulic systems.
