CX-90 PHEV has TWO batteries: (1) Standard 12V AGM auxiliary battery (for conventional electronics) — replace every 4–5 years; (2) 17.8 kWh high-voltage traction battery — covered by 8-year warranty, dealer only. The 12V AGM requires battery registration via MDS after replacement (AGM type — do not use standard lead-acid as replacement). HV battery: monitor state of health annually via dealer MDS check.
