BMW X6 Power Steering Malaysia — EPS
F16/G06 use EPS — no fluid. Heaviest BMW crossover = most EPS motor load. Integral Active Steering (some G06): ISTA needed for calibration. Malaysia EPS repair RM 1,200–2,800.

X6 Power Steering
- EPS on all variants — no hydraulic fluid
- Heavy vehicle: EPS works hard at low speed — steering column bearing wear slightly faster
- EPS failure: RM 2,000–3,500
Electric Power Steering — No Fluid to Ignore
The X6 uses electric power steering (EPS) — there is no hydraulic fluid to check or change. However, EPS is not maintenance-free: the steering column bearing and EPS motor are wear items, and the system requires correct coding to the vehicle's VIN if the EPS unit is replaced. Common EPS symptoms in Malaysia: groan or whine on full lock in car parks, variable steering weight at highway speed (usually an EPS adaptation issue), or a steering warning light. ISTA can read EPS torque sensor data and motor current draw.
