Audi A6 Common Problems Malaysia — C7/C8
C7 3.0 TFSI supercharger belt and coupler are high-wear items. C8 EA888 HPFP and carbon buildup. Air suspension (C7 option) adds significant long-term cost.

C7 3.0 TFSI Supercharger Coupler
The C7 A6 3.0 TFSI uses a Lysholm-type supercharger driven by a poly-V belt + a polymer coupling (coupler). The coupler wears and can shatter — causing loss of boost and a rattling noise. Replace the coupler (and belt) preventively at 60,000–80,000 km. Cost: RM 2,500–4,000 (coupler + belt + tensioner). Left unattended, coupler shrapnel can damage the supercharger housing — RM 15,000+ repair.
C8 EA888 Issues & Air Suspension
C8 A6 moves to turbo TFSI (EA888 or newer). HPFP and carbon buildup same as A4 B9. C7 air suspension (Audi Adaptive Air Suspension, optional on C7, standard on some C8 variants): compressor and valve block failures are expensive — plan RM 2,000–4,500 for compressor, RM 1,800–3,500 per air strut. Both generations: Haldex/Torsen quattro fluid service every 40,000 km — often missed by workshops unfamiliar with Audi.
