- VCDS full scan mandatory: DQ200 mechatronic, timing chain codes (Gen 2), oil consumption data
- 1.4T: test low-speed judder — drive slowly from stop 3 times
- Pre-2013 (8P/early 8V): cold-start chain rattle test mandatory
- Check oil level — EA888 should not be more than 0.5L low per 5,000 km
- DSG fluid history: was it ever changed?
