The Audi A3 8V (2013–2020) and 8Y (2021+) use the EA888 TFSI engine family.
Case 1: 8V A3 1.4T — DQ200 Mechatronic Replacement (62,000 km)
8V A3 1.4T, 62,000 km: customer complained of severe judder when pulling away and occasional DSG fault light. VCDS showed mechatronic adaptation at limits + DSG fluid dark and never changed. Replaced mechatronic unit (RM 5,200) + fresh DQ200 fluid (RM 420). Post-repair: smooth engagement, zero judder. Advised: change DSG fluid every 40,000 km going forward.
Case 2: 8V A3 2.0T — Carbon + Oil Leak (78,000 km)
8V A3 2.0T, 78,000 km: owner noticed slight misfires at idle + oil smell after parking. VCDS found multiple misfire codes + valve cover gasket confirmed leaking (soaking coil 3). Inspection also revealed significant carbon buildup. Combined job: valve cover gasket (RM 550) + walnut blast (RM 850). Post-repair: smooth idle, no misfire, no oil smell. Owner also got DSG and brake fluid done — total RM 1,820.
