Toyota Harrier Oil Leak Guide Malaysia
M20A-FKS common leak points: valve cover gasket and crankshaft front seal. GDI oil pressure is higher — fix leaks promptly.

Oil leaks on the Harrier XU80 are uncommon before 80,000 km but become more prevalent on higher-mileage units. The M20A-FKS and A25A-FXS engines share common leak points with other TNGA-platform Toyotas. Early detection prevents minor seeps from becoming expensive repairs.
Common Oil Leak Points
- Valve cover gasket: most common — oil mist/seep at top of engine; RM 200–350 to replace
- Oil filter housing O-ring: TNGA engines have an oil filter housing on the block — O-ring degrades at 80,000+ km
- Drain plug washer: replace every oil change — a deformed aluminium washer causes slow drip
- Hybrid (A25A-FXS): inspect around the front crank seal at 100,000+ km — rare but has occurred
